The Rev. Dr. Shannon Burke

Shannon Burke was raised in Tennessee. She came to Utah in 2012 to accompany her husband Patrick to Hill Air Force Base for his last assignment as a colonel in the Air Force. Shannon completed her undergraduate studies at Belmont University in Nashville Tennessee in 1995 where she studied English, Psychology and Education. She holds a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Tennessee State University where she gained expertise in serving newcomers to the United States. She went on to earn a Ph.D. in Education Policy, Planning and Administration from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2004. In May of 2022 she earned a Master of Divinity from Central Seminary and completed a Diploma of Anglican Studies at Bexley Seabury Seminary in Chicago. In 2020 Shannon was accepted into the clinical pastoral education program through the Episcopal Community Services Spiritual Care Education Center at St. Mark’s Hospital and spent many years following serving numerous hospitals along the Wasatch front. Shannon comes to us from The Cathedral Church of St. Mark where she served for two years as chaplain to The Point, an affordable living community for senior citizens. She’s mom to three teenagers: Rachel, Cal, and Wheeler. She loves her dachshund, Benny, and in her spare time she plays pickleball and hikes.

Shannon is eager to walk alongside us as we seek to follow Christ and serve the least, the lost and the last here in Centerville.
